I have no health insurance and have about 50,000 in medical debt from kidney problems over the last year. Are there any programs that will help?

not really, not if you are working. sad fact is, those of us that strive to be productive and contribute to society are on our own when it comes to healthcare and it’s costs, even those of us with insurance often cannot afford the costs that insurance refuses to cover… with that much debt I would consider chapter 11 bankruptcy.

If you are working and do not have health insurance or access to, because of your kidney condition, you can check out your county’s “medically indigent” program. Unfortunately, this program does not “back pay”

If this issue with your kidneys have prevented you from working, you may consider applying for SSI because of the disability which results from the medical condition. In that case, if approved, you can receive health benefits which could be back-dated based on your onset of medical condition and the bills would be retroactively paid by.

Other than that, there is no other way unless you are significantly disabled.
